This is a book that I can strongly recommend. It is a very personal book filled with a great love of Italy and the Italian people. There are no pictures, and it is not a typical guidebook. Run and buy! |

Damms reisebøker/Damms travelbooks are for those of you who want to know
as much as possible before you go on holiday.
It is meant as a supplement to more traditional guide books,
with past as well as present, details and completeness, seen through Norwegian eyes.
This book is written by Pål Bang-Hansen, who has been studying at "Centro Sperimentale" in Rome,
produced several films, and worked in TV and newspapers.
He has interwieved many famous filmstars, and in this book he shares his experiences around in
the city, tells about history, culture, football, art, food, and lots and lots of other things.
The book has a nice section with useful info. And it includes useful maps and road index.
If you take off the cover and fold it out, you will find a good map and some useful
tourist information. Handy and smart. I just wish I had read this book before I went to Rome last time. Guess it is time for a new trip soon? |
